Bybit

Explore trading fees and funding on Bybit.

Understanding Bybit starts with separating crypto spot trading, fiat purchases and regional services. This guide explains funding versus trading accounts, how execution fees are deducted, and why living abroad does not remove nationality checks.

A few things to know

Understanding Bybit accounts and trading

Bybit uses its Unified Trading Account (UTA) for spot trading and its Funding Account for deposits and withdrawals. When comparing platforms, check where your funds sit as well as the available pairs: a completed deposit and an available spot balance are different things, and an internal transfer may be needed.

Bybit.com lists separate fee rules for crypto-to-crypto spot, fiat spot and special trading zones. If you already hold crypto, start with the pair you intend to trade. If you start with a card or bank balance, examine the purchase or fiat-deposit route separately. This guide focuses on spot trading.

Execution fees and the amount you receive

Spot fees are calculated on the executed quantity and deducted in the asset purchased. For example, at an assumed 0.10% rate, buying 0.02 BTC incurs a 0.00002 BTC fee, leaving 0.01998 BTC. This is an illustrative calculation; the unfilled portion does not incur an execution fee.

From executed purchase to net receipt
Executed purchase0.02 BTCBased on the executed quantity
Trading fee0.00002 BTC0.02 × 0.10%
Net receipt0.01998 BTCStill held in the platform account

WithdrawalAsset and network fees are separate

Assumes a 0.10% fee for an executed buy order. This is an illustration, not your actual quote, and excludes withdrawal fees.

Funding and withdrawal are separate cost steps. Bybit charges no platform fee for on-chain crypto deposits, but the sending platform or wallet may charge. On-chain withdrawals have asset- and network-specific minimums and fees. For a small purchase followed by an immediate withdrawal, calculate the withdrawal fee as a proportion of the amount before comparing routes.

How should I fund my account?Check available channels, currencies and account fees.

Bybit charges no receiving fee for on-chain deposits; sender costs remain separate. Fiat deposits, card and third-party purchases are priced by currency and route. Check the final payment amount; the crypto spot rate does not price a buy-crypto quote.

What should I check before withdrawing?Confirm the network, address and fee before sending.

Withdrawal charges and minimums are listed by asset and network. Review both on the official confirmation page, then check the recipient’s network. A single fixed charge cannot represent every route.

Check residence, nationality and funding together

Bybit.com applies residence restrictions, while its individual KYC FAQ says country restrictions in verification are determined by nationality. Both checks matter; moving abroad alone does not establish eligibility. Standard verification is the baseline, with additional requirements possible for higher verification levels, products and payment methods.

The fiat-deposit flow lists payment methods by currency, including their fees and processing times. Check the methods actually offered to your account before sending money; a spot fee is not a card-purchase fee. Bybit EU is a separate European offering, so read its own terms rather than applying Bybit.com account rules or fee tables.

Compare Bybit using the same funding route

If you already have USDT, compare the same trading pair, order value and withdrawal network, recording execution and withdrawal costs separately. If you start with fiat, include deposit, currency conversion or third-party purchase costs. The starting asset can change the result; one headline rate is insufficient.

Our comparison approach is to confirm access first, then assess costs and operational steps. If you need direct bank funding, prioritize an available local route. If you already use order books, examine the distinction between standard pairs and special trading zones. This is a decision method, not a universal platform ranking.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my spot balance insufficient after a deposit?

Check whether the assets are in your Funding Account rather than UTA. An internal transfer may be needed, and open orders can reserve funds. The transferable amount excludes frozen balances; use the amount shown in the transfer window.

Is every limit order charged as maker?

No. Maker status means supplying liquidity to the order book. An order that executes immediately against existing orders may be taker. Check the execution role and fee in your trade history, rather than relying on the limit-order label.

Do fiat spot pairs use the ordinary crypto spot rate?

Do not assume so. Bybit lists a separate fiat-spot schedule linked to spot volume or VIP tier, and separate Adventure Zone and xStocks rates. Identify the market category before reading the fee table.

Are Bybit EU and Bybit.com the same service?

No. Bybit EU is a separate offering for eligible EEA residents. Check its account terms, available products and fees directly; sharing a brand does not make global-site information interchangeable.
