Choosing a platform

What documents do you need to open a crypto exchange account?

Prepare personal information and a funding route; confirm accepted documents and referral conditions on the official platform.

On this page

Start with the service you need

Choose your actual residence, then identify order-book spot, an instant purchase or another product. The account entity, available products and referral campaign each have conditions. Read the relevant official terms after selecting a region.

OKX uses different entities in Australia, Europe and Singapore. Binance has separate local guidance for Australia and New Zealand. Bybit.com restrictions also address nationality, while Kraken assets and funding routes vary by region. Start with the regional notes in platform comparison, then open their sources.

Separate preparation from confirmed requirements

  • Contact and residence information: have contact details you can use, your real address and nationality information ready for the official form.
  • Identity documents: check accepted types and validity requirements for the relevant entity before preparing your ID. A passport is not automatically accepted for every platform, market and product.
  • Proof of address and photos: follow the verification page for document types, dates and photo requirements. Do not send these documents to CoinNav.
  • Funding account: check currency, method, name requirements and minimums before choosing a bank account or wallet.

These are preparation topics, not a universal mandatory document list. Upload documents, verify identity and make payments only on the exchange’s official service. CoinNav does not collect identity documents or verification codes.

BEFORE YOU STARTCheck which requirements apply before preparing documents
  1. Residence & service

Actual residence, local entity and intended product; nationality where required.

  2. Your verification documents

Check accepted ID; prepare address evidence and photos only as requested.

  3. Payment account

Check currency, method, account-name rules, minimums and fees.

Preparation map, not a universal document checklist. Submit identity documents only through the exchange’s official pages, never to CoinNav.

What to check for each platform

OKX: local entity and bank requirements

Select your actual residence on the official registration page and follow that entity’s verification checklist. Accepted ID and address-document types are not confirmed here for every market. Australian AUD deposits require the sending bank account and OKX account to have matching names; third-party deposits are not accepted. OKX terms · AUD bank requirements

Binance: the account’s verification and product conditions

Read local terms, then use the verification checklist shown on the official account page. Document types, proof of address and processing times remain unconfirmed here. Existing users should check their verification and referral relationship; a new-user code does not guarantee adding a code to an existing account. Australian or New Zealand guidance does not replace another market’s account terms. Binance ADGM and account entities

Bybit: nationality as well as residence

At least Standard verification is required, including identity assessment and proof of identity. Proof of address or a higher level may be required for certain markets or products. Use the official KYC FAQ to check nationality, documents and entity. Bybit.com and Bybit EU conditions need separate review. Bybit Individual KYC FAQ

Kraken: age, document dates and bank-account names

Applicants must be at least 18, live in a supported area and complete verification. Valid ID, address information and a face photo may be requested. Proof of address should generally be under three months old and show your name and address; consult the accepted-document list. Australian Osko/PayID funding also requires a same-name Australian bank account. Verification · Document requirements · AUD transfers

Finish with funding and referral checks

Before paying, select the currency, route and amount on the official page. Check platform and payment-provider charges, minimums and the amount received. If moving funds to a wallet, also check the asset, receiving network, withdrawal charge and minimum. Network checklist

For a referral, review new-user definitions, existing relationships, region and task conditions. CoinNav provides Binance BN6691 and OKX OK6669; the platform determines benefits and code linking. Referral conditions

If the official service does not clearly accept your documents or offer the required product, ask its support team first. Describe residence, nationality and the intended product without sending identity documents or account passwords to CoinNav.

If proof of address is requested

Read the document types, issue-date rules and rejection checks, then prepare the documents requested by your account.
