For an eligible OKX Singapore account, cash deposit → SGD → PayNow → your own payment account is a way to fund an SGD balance. Funding the balance and buying USDT or BTC are separate actions: reconcile the cash deposit before placing a purchase.
This guide uses official material checked on 6 September 2026. It concerns personal OKX Singapore accounts funded from Singapore payment accounts. Images come from official documentation; CoinNav did not open an account, send money or execute a trade for this review.
Check which account and payment service you can use
Singapore onboarding is not limited to citizens. OKX's current account-opening guide gives certain foreign residents a standard individual-verification route, while overseas residents, relocating applicants and institutions have other assessment paths. Acceptance as an OKX SG customer does not automatically provide every SGD funding method. Singapore account-opening requirements
Complete verification using your real circumstances, take the knowledge test when prompted, then check whether SGD and PayNow appear under cash deposits. OKX's beginner guide treats verification, the test and funding as separate steps. Use Singpass if offered, or the documents accepted by your verification screen. OKX SG beginner guide
If the option is absent, check verification and service eligibility first. Changing the website language does not grant funding access. Do not use someone else's receiving account and then ask support to move the payment into yours.
Find the SGD cash-deposit screen
On the web, use Assets → Deposit → Cash / SGD balance. In the app, start with Transfer → Deposit and select the cash currency. Choose SGD, not a USDT blockchain deposit address. Labels may change between versions; identify the currency and payment method. Cash-deposit navigation and limits

Captured directly from the public help page on 6 September 2026 (Beijing time); page updated 11 August 2026. Pictured amounts identify allowance fields, not your current limits. This is not a CoinNav account deposit test.
The official image lists PayNow alongside Bank transfer and International wire transfer. Keep each method's payment instructions separate. The bank-transfer workflow generates dedicated bank-account details; PayNow uses the account's QR and bill reference. Bank-transfer instructions
Check the payer, QR and amount before sending
Use the current QR generated inside your own account. Scan it with a supported banking app, or import the QR image where your banking app permits this. Review the recipient and SGD amount before confirming. A referral code is not a payment reference; a tutorial or another person's QR is not your payment instruction.
OKX ties the QR's bill reference to the account. It rejects third-party payments, accepts supported PayNow bank apps and PayLah!, and excludes GrabPay, Wise and LifeSG. Its published refund period for rejected deposits is one business day, to the original sender. These are requirements for this deposit method. PayNow requirements
Keep two references distinct: the account's bill reference identifies where a payment belongs; the bank's transaction reference identifies the individual transfer. Keep their connection, payment time, currency and amount for reconciliation.
Your bank has separate rules. For example, DBS ties PayNow QR payments to its daily transfers-to-other-banks limit. Funding a Scan & Pay payment in digibank is also different from using the separate PayLah! app. DBS Scan & Pay FAQ
Why a pictured S$200,000 limit is not your allowance
The maximum and remaining limit shown in the official illustration identify fields, not your entitlement. Your payment must satisfy the bank's remaining allowance, OKX's per-payment conditions and its remaining periodic limits. Check both sides before paying.
A hypothetical example: your bank has SGD 800 of today's allowance left, while OKX shows SGD 2,000 available. A planned SGD 1,000 transfer still exceeds the bank allowance. Even with sufficient remaining limits, a payment must meet the minimum and per-transaction maximum. These figures explain the checks; they are not suggested deposit amounts.
OKX distinguishes per-payment, daily, weekly and monthly limits. Some allowances recover on a rolling basis from a transaction's time rather than at midnight. Read the figures for your own selected method. Cash limits and processing times
What to check after your bank confirms payment
Treat the journey as three observable results:
| Result | What it establishes | Next check |
|---|---|---|
| Successful bank payment record | A payment was recorded at the bank | Matching SGD cash-deposit entry at OKX |
| Completed SGD deposit at OKX | Cash was credited to the platform account | Available SGD balance and any account notices |
| Completed purchase order | Cash was used for a crypto purchase | Actual crypto received, execution price and fees |
Find cash deposits under Assets → Deposit → All deposits on the web, or Portfolio → Transactions → Cash deposit in the app. Purchases belong under Buy records; a deposit receipt is not a trade confirmation. Deposit-history navigation · Cash purchases and order history
PayNow is described as instant, but payment checks or bank and system disruption can delay crediting. If the bank shows success and OKX does not yet show a deposit, investigate the first payment rather than sending another to hurry it along.
Troubleshoot a missing or returned payment
This sequence follows the funding workflow; it does not promise automatic recovery or a support resolution deadline.
| Situation | Check first | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Bank declined the payment | Available funds, bank limit and error message | Resolve the bank issue; do not assume OKX received anything |
| Bank debited, no OKX entry | Your own QR, matching currency and amount, bank transaction status | Contact logged-in OKX support with reference, time, amount and necessary evidence |
| OKX entry still processing | Requests for information and service notices | Respond through official channels and retain the original record; avoid duplicate payments |
| Deposit rejected or refund initiated | Refund entry in the original paying account | If the published refund period passes, ask OKX for the refund status, then ask the bank to trace that record |
Redact unrelated transactions from evidence and use official support. Passwords, verification codes and seed phrases are not needed to trace a cash payment. OKX support
Does free PayNow funding make the whole purchase free?
No. The published free SGD PayNow deposit does not remove the price paid to buy crypto, any trading charge or a later withdrawal cost. Converting another currency to SGD beforehand can add a bank FX cost. OKX SG funding overview
Consider two hypothetical quotes, each deducting SGD 500. A delivers 0.00380 BTC net; B delivers 0.00376 BTC. Even if both advertise free funding, A delivers 0.00004 BTC more. This is not a comparison of live platforms. It illustrates why the same budget and quote time, with net receipt after fees, are more useful than one isolated fee label.
Check whether fees are already included before adding them again. A later wallet transfer adds the selected asset/network withdrawal cost; that component is not zero simply because you have not chosen a network.
